For those of you who don’t know I run a few websites in my spare time and am always on the look out for new ideas. Just over a month ago a friend of mine called Alex told me about a guy on YouTube called Kris Moyse. I have wrote about him before on the site and put one of his videos on here.

Kris is a talented musician from Bognor Regis, who is yet to be signed to a record label. After listening to most of his songs I decided to create an ‘Unofficial’ fan site for him. The aim of the site is try and get him noticed and for it to be an online community for his fans (he has thousands of them on YouTube). The first thing I did was set up a main page with links to his various pages on YouTube and MySpace and then created a message board.

The site was looking really dull (apart from the forum) so I told my friend Alex Hall about the site and he offered to help with designing and building the site. Alex is the lead singer of a band in Lancashire called Syst3m 32 and also happens to be a web programmer. After a few weeks of changing and tweaking the site he came up with a design we were both happy with. He looks after the main site and I look after the message board/forum at the moment.

So where are we at today? Well Kris has seen the site and likes it! It gets a steady amount of visitors (mainly from Google) and we are going to continue to develop it. Alex has created a really good comments and video section which runs off a database so everything can be updated very easily meaning its easy to maintain.

For those of you wanting to check out the website, the address is www.krismoyse.com

Obviously liking some of the songs he had covered I decided to listen to a few and wow, he is very talented! In my opinion probably the best unsigned musician on there! He has also written and performed some of his own songs too.
Here is one of his videos, a cover of Linkin Parks ‘Numb’ which is simply amazing:

My friend Alex is the lead singer of a band called Syst3m 32 so I thought I would create an article about them. Here is a bit about them:

Syst3m 32 are a rock, punk band based in and around the Lancaster area of Lancashire. Having been together for over a year and a half and recently gaining a new member, the band have become a solid 5-piece producing some well thought-out, well-written and well-executed pieces of music.

Though mainly specialising in covers of other bands, Syst3m 32 have begun to write some songs of their own that already look set to inspire listeners from the local area. Many of the covers the band have produced have a unique sound and differ greatly from the originals that you may know and love. This shows that there is a capability for not only writing, but ‘re-designing’ songs with a unique feel, a talent not greatly expressed in todays world of music.

The band originally consisted of just two members, that formed (at that time) an unnamed band who practised a couple of songs with two acoustic guitars and two vocals. Through a series of very fortunate events the bassist was found in the most unexpected of situations and promptly joined and added a great asset and expansive sound to what already existed. The three as they were decided on some covers to play so that they could learn to work with each other and create the tone that would shape the rest of the bands, as yet unknown, life.

After a few months of small practices and getting to know each other and the music they were playing, the band decided to have a go at a live performance showcasing what had been set in stone. The ‘Gig In The Garden’ was a success by all accounts and brought about the next generation of musical aspirations and a possible place for a bit of proper practising. The band continued to grow and became more and more confident in their sound and technique.

After nailing a few live performances yet more luck struck the band in the form of a talented rhythm guitarist that allowed the lead singer to concentrate on the vocal aspect of the music, which ultimately made a vast improvement to the sound.

As things stand at the moment, the band consists of 4 main members, vocalist, two guitars and a bassist, and an extremely talented part time drummer who helps us get things together and perform to time. Their first major gig has been lined up and they have become an altogether strong sounding and able band that hopes to take the surrounding area by storm.
